Visy Technology Systems’ Steve Jowett, said the new Hitachi RXHD printer, just released, will halve solvent use by up to 50% and increase its marking rate by around 10%.

“At a time when the world is growing more concerned about environmental sustainability and seeking ways to reduce excess consumption, the Hitachi RXHD is truly an inkjet printer that has been designed for today’s environmentally-concerned management,” explained Steve.

“Traditional printers have been using around 5ml of solvent per hour. The Hitachi RXHD uses just 2.5 ml halving its solvent use, and is the right machine for handling high-volume marking. So, if you are running big numbers through your plant and possibly working 24/7, this is the marker you need to invest in.

Some markers we know of, can use 10, 20, or even 30ml of solvent an hour, so it’s clear what the savings are, when you have the Hitachi RXHD working for you.”   He said another plus was the extended time needed between service calls.

“Previously, machines needed regular service on a set program. Now, those service calls are 50% longer between visits. Again, less visits means less cost in service and parts requirements.   “An additional feature of the new RXHD is its removable control panel, which is attached to the printer by a tethered cable. No other inkjet printer on the market has this feature.

The beauty is in the cabinet, which can be located away from the operator, to create the best working environment. It also allows you to put the printer in a cage or cell, where there may be less access than on a packing line. The machine can be placed up to 4 metres from the control panel, creating ultimate versatility.”

Steve said Hitachi had also released two other models, which were the RXBD, a moderate speed twin line printer with a 10.4 inch colour touch screen; and the RXSD, a 2,3, or 4-line printer, offering an Ethernet port and USB memory back up. He said all printers were now ready for testing by customers.
