AFTER 27 years, the Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APMA) will be changing its name.
According to APMA national chairman, Rob Lawrence, the association will be known as the Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association effective immediately.
“Changing the association name to the Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association has been a long time coming and is designed to ensure that all of our member companies are represented accordingly,” Lawrence said.
“For a long time our membership has involved both packaging and processing and the national board felt it was time to ensure that this was reflected in our overall corporate identity and association name.
“Our membership base covers all areas of packaging and processing equipment including food processing and process engineering equipment and our new name identifies all aspects of the industry.”
Lawrence also said AUSPACK, Australasia’s largest biennial packaging and processing machinery exhibition and a major member service to the association, will be known as AUSPACK PLUS from 2011.
AUSPACK PLUS will be expanding its format to include the processing and plastics sectors of food, beverage and manufacturing industries.
The Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association will also be launching a new company logo, corporate identity and a new website.
