NEW Tray sealing machines, head load testers and cartoners will be just some of the many products showcased at AUSPACK 2009.

As the largest biennial packaging and processing machinery, materials and associated technology exhibition for Australasia, AUSPACK 2009 will be bringing together hundreds of new products and innovations under one roof in June.

Proseal UK Limited will be exhibiting at AUSPACK 2009 to introduce customers to their its subsidiary Proseal Australia which is now is fully operational.

The company, based in Melbourne, is headed by Scott Templeton, who worked for Proseal in the UK for 5 years. Proseal designs and manufactures its own tray sealing machines and is now the leading supplier in the UK.

According to Robert Hargreaves, Director, Proseal, the company hopes to bring to Australia its reputation for reliable robust machines and excellent customer service.

At AUSPACK Proseal Australia will be demonstrating the semi automatic PR30 machine capable of sealing up to 30 trays per minute and a fully automatic in line machine called the GT1 which can seal up to 60 trays per minute.

A world-first for the wine industry, SI Instruments will launch its new TehloTest instrumnet.

Based on the company's continued innovation in the wine industry, the TehloTest is 100% Australian designed and developed instrument.

The TehloTest is the wireless edition of the long-proven Head Load Tester used in wineries throughout Australia. Measuring the head load of capping machinery is now even easier.

The TehloTest can be wirelessly operated from a distance of up to 30 metres with no wires to be pulled or damaged. It is ideally suited for use in production lines.

The solution consists of two parts:

1. the imitation bottle, containing the load cell, and

2. the user interface, containing the control module.

The possibilities extend further with EasyPlot graphing software, making it possible to obtain a full graph of the capping force on a computer screen.

Highly accurate measurement with a fast response rate in a strong, durable, robust housing, the TehloTest is easy to use, with clear intuitive controls.

A fully adjustable stainless steel BVS head with fine adjustment and locking screw allows for common wine bottle sizes, while still accommodating individual caps or unusual bottles.

The included spacer allows for taller bottles, while additional spacers can be added if necessary.

The PAKSMART PC120 Carton Machine is loaded with great features and innovations and will be showcased on stand 246 at AUSPACK. The PC120 is a continuous motion horizontal carton machine (Cartoner) that is capable of 120 cycles per minute.

This makes it suitable for most moderate production requirements. The PC120 is available in both automatic load (barrel cam) and hand load models.

The hand load version features a loading station that comfortably accommodates 2 operators for high speeds. The automatic version is suitable for higher levels of automation.

As with all PAKSMART Cartoners, the PC120 uses the latest servo motor technology. This reduces mechanical linkages resulting in less wear and maintenance requirements.

The servo drives also control all machine functions for improved reliability and performance.

The rotary pick and place carton erector offers high speed efficiency with a generous carton size range. The 1.2m powered magazine extends running time which is important at this speed.

Paksmart systems are used primarily in the packaging industry, including food and beverage, contract packing, pharmaceuticals and mailing houses.

Design and manufacture takes place in Sydney.

AUSPACK will be held from Tuesday the 16th through to Friday the 19th of June 2009 at the Sydney Showgrounds, Sydney Olympic Park.

AUSPACK is owned and presented by the Australian Packaging Machinery Association, Australia’s only national packaging and processing machinery organisation.
