German manufacturer Paal Verpackungsmaschinen will unveil its packaging line consisting of a modern Bosch continuous bag form fill and seal machine and state-of-the-art indexing horizontal cartoner at Interpak 2008.
The continuous vertical bag f/f/s machine is designed for the production of side folding bags.
The vacuum belt draw-off system reliably handles different kinds of packaging materials, heatsealable as well as polyethylene (PE) film.
Due to servo technology random programming of the movement profiles is possible and a higher capacity is achieved.
The vertical bag f/f/s machine is characterised by short size changes and changeover times.
The cartoner is equipped with modern drive technology and is based on Paal’s new platform strategy.
Indexing, semi-continuous, and continuous versions are available on this platform - with 6, 9, 12, and in special cases 15 inch pitches.
The cartoner is known for its innovative product collation, insertion systems and its quiet and gentle mode of operation.
New top loading module
With its ELEMATIC 6000 F Paal presents a new top loading module based on the 6000 series platform.
The top loader will be equipped with three robots.
When designing this machine, we took advantage of the flexible range of 4 to 6 axes robots.
The first robot with 6 axes takes over the products in a row of 12 pieces by means of its special gripping effectors and splits them into two groups of 6 pieces.
These groups of 6 pieces are put down in rows by the robot onto two collation stations until both packages are completed according to the requested collation scheme of 2, 4, or 5 rows.
The prepared packages are then picked by the second 4-axes robot and inserted from top into the provided RSC-folding cartons.
If packages with the collation 2 x 6 are inserted, the robot fills two RSC-folding cartons simultaneously.
When packages with 4 or 5 rows are inserted, this is done separately with another small and light gripping device, guaranteeing accurate placement.
The exchange of the gripping effectors is completely automated.
ELEMATIC 1000 WAS-i — Simplest format change
The successful one-level case packer ELEMATIC 1000 WAS-i is based on the 1000 platform and is equipped with two magazines for packaging a tray, tray with hood, and/or full wrap around.
The servo driven machine is characterised by an especially simple format change, which has been partially automated.
During the Interpack this machine will demonstrate the packaging of cookies.
Food Picker Elematic 7000 F-5f
The new food picker is characterized by a capacity of 100 picks per minute. It is fully washable and can be used in critical areas with unpackaged food.
The picker can be mounted on the floor, on the wall or from above.
These flexible mounting options assist in retro-fitting lines to add additional line capacity. Its range adds up to 1800 mm with a carrying capacity of up to 2000 g.
With 5 or 6 axes this picker can be used also for tasks which require a higher flexibility. For example the erecting of products to a vertical orientation after the product has been recognized by a vision and picked.
Products arriving in any order are recognized and packed into trays. When picking the products the robot makes use of the “line tracking” process, thereby assuring a smooth operation.
Roboshaker
Our robotic bartender (patent pending) will be a highlight for visitors to Paal’s stand.
The Roboshaker was designed for promotions, and exhibits the enhanced flexibilty of todays highly developed robots.
