CHEP serves Woolworths

CHEP Asia-Pacific has announced its six-year service agreement with leading retailer Woolworths, doubling CHEP’s Fresh business.

Under the agreement, CHEP will supply and manage its specially designed collapsible produce crates to Woolworths’ vendors that will then exclusively provide produce packed in the new crates to Woolworths supermarkets across Australia and New Zealand.

CHEP’s fresh produce system is environmentally efficient, protects the quality of produce from the farm to the supermarket shelf and helps to reduce occupational health and safety risks associated with manual handling.

As part of the agreement, CHEP will upgrade its crate-washing service-centre network with recycling systems to cut water usage and sewer discharge by up to 90%.
