I am thrilled to introduce the remaining finalists in the packaging Evolution Awards: Astron Plastics, Coca-Cola Amatil, Huhtamaki New Zealand, Assa Abloy, LG Electronics, Dulux Australia, Electrolux Home Products, Schering-Plough, Nutrimetics, Kimberly-Clark Australia and Revlon.
The awards reward National Packaging Covenant signatories that have shown exellence in packaging waste management and reduction of packaging waste by completing and reporting against a NPC action plan.
Today sustainability is the uniting challenge facing all industry members.
The awards give companies that are taking the lead and committing themselves to change an opportunity to shine and inspire their peers.
It is interesting, then, that at such a time only 67% of respondents to Packaging’s new online barometer question believe that the National Packaging Covenant is achieving an overall reduction in packaging waste.
Is this because respondents feel that those in industry responsible for making changes should take the credit, not the NPC, or because they believe that a meaningful change in the way packaging waste is handled has not yet been achieved?
To have your say on the issue of the day, answer the new barometer question below.
The results of the awards will be announced via the e-newsletter, website and magazine.
Features on the winners will appear in next month’s issue of Packaging and online, which leaves me only to congratulate all the finalists on their achievements to date and wish them the best of luck.
