Entries are open for the 5th Annual Packaging Magazine Evolution Awards which this year include categories recognising and rewarding innovation in packaging openings, shelf ready packaging, secondary Packaging and bioplastics or recycled materials.

Launched in 2006 by Reed Business information, the Packaging Magazine Evolution Awards recognised and rewarded brand owners that were signatories to the National Packaging Covenant for excellence in packaging waste management.

Four years on the Awards, has highlighted many outstanding achievers. However, the scope of the awards has been limited to National Packaging Covenant signatories only.

In light of the number of outstanding innovators in the packaging industry that aren’t signatories to the Covenant, we’ve expanded this year’s awards to recognise and reward brand owners that aren’t necessarily signatories to the Covenant.

Any brand owner — signatory or non-signatory to the Covenant — can enter the awards with a worthy innovation in any of the following four new categories:

• Innovation in Packaging Opening

• Best Shelf-Ready Packaging Solution

• Innovation in Secondary Packaging

• Best use of Bioplastics or Recycled Materials in Packaging

Entries to all categories close Monday, 10 May 2010.
