The winners of the Packaging Evolution Awards were presented with their awards this morning at a presentation breakfast, held at WatersEdge, Sydney.
Over 140 guests attended the breakfast to see the winners and highly commended companies accept awards in each of ten categories, including: Most Innovative Solution to Packaging Waste Management, Most Outstanding Demonstration of Packaging Waste Management in Australia, Pharmaceutical Packaging Action Award, Most Outstanding Demonstration of Packaging Waste Management in New Zealand and Food Packaging Action Award.
A Best in Show award was also presented to the company that judges felt achieved the most significant results when reporting against its National Packaging Covenant Action Plan.
Guests attending the breakfast comprised representatives of finalist companies, such as IBM, BP Australia, HJ Heinz, Coca-Cola Amatil, Amcor and Huhtamaki New Zealand, among others; suppliers to the packaging industry, packaging professionals and sponsors of the awards, Heidelberg, Globus, 3M, Tronics, Cospak and Cryovac/Sealed Air.
The awards were judged by Professor Harry Lovell, Mike Walker and Robin Tuckerman, all prominent members of the packaging community.
The Evolution Awards recognise and reward National Packaging Covenant signatories for achievements in packaging waste management.
This is the second year the awards have been held.
All winners will be featured in the December issue of Packaging magazine, and will feature on the website and in the e-newsletter.
