Cardia Technologies Limited (Cardia or CNN) is pleased to announce that its subsidiary Biograde Limited, Australian based producer and global marketer of sustainable packaging materials, has won the 2009 CleanEquity Monaco Conference award for Excellence in the field of Environmental Technology Commercialisation.
The Award was presented to Biograde Chairman Pat Volpe by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.
Biograde Chairman Pat Volpe said the CleanEquity Monaco award was further international recognition of the company’s innovative plastics and packaging technologies.
“Biograde makes renewable resource based hybrid resins and compostable materials for the rapidly expanding 'sustainable' sector of the estimated US$180 billion a year global packaging market," says Pat Volpe.
"The high level of certification of our compostable resins, which comply with Australian Standards AS 4736-2006 and also meet European EN13432, USA/Canada ASTMD6400, Japanese GreenPla and China Environment Label standards, is driving Biograde growth,”

The annual invitation-only event hosted 40 next-generation clean technology companies from all over the world presenting to an audience of over 300 delegates, comprising investment, political, industry and media communities.
Biograde managing director Dr Frank Glatz says the company holds a strong patent portfolio for biodegradable packaging resins derived from renewable sources.
