United Arab Emirates-based label printer, Future Pack and a division of the Emirates National Factory for Plastic Industries (ENPI) installed the Prati Saturn TE330 slitter inspection rewinder in 2007, which has since improved their label production.

“I saw the Prati Saturn TE 330 at an exhibition in Dubai and was impressed. It’s a very compact, user-friendly machine and more efficient than some of the other options in the market,” Chinna Durai, Future Pack manager, said.

Durai also said Future Pack uses the Saturn TE330 in the post-production of paper and filmic labels as well as on 38 and 64 micron unsupported film labels.

The Saturn TE330 slitter inspection rewinder enables winding, inspection, rewinding, slitting on a wide range of pressure sensitive labels, unsupported paper, cardboard, as well as aluminium. The machine is servo-motorised and was designed to process webs width of up to 330 millimetres.

“We are now looking at adding an inkjet print-head to allow us to overprint variable data such as barcodes and product codes. This will further improve productivity and efficiency,” Durai said.
