Packaging Magazine’s third annual Evolution Awards Gala dinner was a resounding success with 130 industry guests enthusiastically supporting winners in ten industry awards categories.
Held last night (August 20th) at L’Aqua, overlooking the glittering lights of Darling Harbour, National Packaging Covenant signatories celebrated the passion, commitment and hard work they’ve invested in packaging waste management.
Australia’s National Packaging Covenant is designed to minimise the environmental impacts arising from the disposal of used packaging and to conserve resources through better design and production processes. It also aims to facilitate the re-use and recycling of used packaging materials.
“The Packaging Evolution Awards is the only industry awards that specifically recognises and rewards NPC signatories who have both met and surpassed their own stated metrics,” says Packaging Magazine editor Anna Game-Lopata.
“This year’s suite of outstanding finalists have truly distinguished themselves through ongoing attention to waste management procedures.”
“These include recycling, data management, improved product development and dialogue with suppliers. They have reviewed company merchandising material; down gauged and downsized,” Game-Lopata says.
“Together with our sponsors, Sealed Air Cryovac, 3M Australia, Colorpak, the BRBA, Viscount Plastics and Confoil, I congratulate the companies who have been inspired to revolutionise the way they operate; the winners of the 2008 Packaging Evolution Awards.”
