Taking part in Labelexpo Americas was GIDUE’s chance to share its latest technological developments with the largest label market in the world.
The exhibition is, in fact, the place where label converters gather from across the Americas (13,256 visitors from 88 countries in 2006).
GIDUE and KPG Corp., GIDUE’s agent in US and Canada, showed visitors how highly decorated labels can come to life through the perfect in-line integration of printing processes, from offset to flexo, through silkscreen, cold foil, hot stamping, lamination, embossing and die-cutting.
The new Universal Platform on the Xpannd hybrid press offers the possibility to interchange, under perfect modularity, the RSI and the famous Flower™ flexo process head.
With the Hi-Offset Xpannd combination presses, recently certified by the German SID Institution, the value of the printed products is extremely widened.
More new technologies will be shown: the latest cost-efficient Hot Stamping technology, the Intelligent Register 2.0 using cameras placed on each printing station and allowing the perfect register with reduced wastage and perfect monitoring of the machine printing pressures.
GIDUE’s visitors and guests were also able to discover, through videos and descriptive panels, a brand new approach to mid-web flexible packaging printing.
The Athena UV flexo in-line technology provides safe, solvent free printing for food packaging, giving this industry the opportunity to promote sustainability and to produce refined film packaging and alternative shrink sleeves for this demanding market.
An Athena print module equipped with sleeves from AKL, a Stork Prints Group subsidiary, will be displayed at Stork booth (in Hall A left, booth 529) in the Rosemont Centre.
AKL sleeves are well-known for their TIR accuracy, long lifetime, temperature and humidity resistance. Visitors will also be able to experience Athena’s operational smoothness and check on the advanced multi-camera register system.
