Tucker’s Natural has expanded its packaging options with the installation of Linx TT5 thermal transfer overprinter from Matthews Intelligent Identification.
According to Matthews, Tucker’s Natural has been able to produce its Gourmet Cracker range.
“Installing the Linx TT5 has given us the flexibility to launch and trial products because we can basically put everything together, run plain film through and print all the details on the front of the pack and we’ve got something,” Sam Tucker, Tucker’s Natural managing director, said.
Matthews’ technicians installed the Linx TT5 on the plant’s existing horizontal flow wrapping machine. The Linx TT5 prints directly onto the film before each product is wrapped.
“It has improved our existing process by creating an efficient online coding system. It opens up the food service market for our existing products and allows us to develop new products to test the market,” Tucker said.
The Linx TT5 features a ribbon width of up to 55m and is suitable for printing best-before dates and batch codes. It also includes a touch screen LCD display, clutchless ribbon drive system and a ribbon reload cassette.
