The Chairman of Plantic Technologies Limited is pleased to confirm the appointment of Brendan Morris to the position of Chief Executive Officer at the company.

Morris was formerly the Finance Director and Chief Operating Officer of Plantic and assumed the role of Chief Executive on an interim basis following Grant Dow’s departure in January 2008.

Plantic’s Chairman, Ian Wightwick says Morris is the longest serving executive officer of Plantic.

"Brendan has intimate knowledge of the company and its people as well as Plantic’s intellectual property, products, customers, joint venture partners, key suppliers and investors," Wightwick says.

"The Board is confident Plantic can progress toward achieving its substantial potential under Brendan’s capable leadership."

"Brendan has been deeply involved with the development of Plantic’s strategic plan, and in his period as Interim CEO, has already put in place actions to accelerate the achievement of the key strategic objectives.”

Brendan Morris joined Plantic in 2004 and has played an instrumental role in its development including three capital raisings, the most recent being Plantic’s successful listing on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange in May 2007.

Morris also led the recent negotiations which resulted in the successful distribution and development partnership agreements with DuPont, Amcor, Bemis and National Starch.

Prior to joining Plantic, Morris was CFO of Basell Polyolefins, Flexible Film and Resin Business in Australia and Thailand.

Morris has also worked for APV, a global engineering group with an emphasis on food and hygienic engineering, working in senior finance and commercial roles based in Australia, Denmark, UK and Singapore.

Morris was a senior accountant with KPMG in Melbourne prior to embarking on his management career.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Deakin University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Daryl Hoy, who recently joined Plantic, has been appointed Finance and Administration Manager.

Hoy joined Plantic after 12 years with Brickwood Holdings, one of Australia’s leading blow moulding and injection moulding companies specialising in plastic bottles, caps and closures, where he held a variety of senior finance positions.

Prior to joining Brickwood Holdings, Hoy gained public company experience in the Adroyal Group including as company secretary of the listed company Moorland Hire Limited.

Hoy is a Chartered Accountant commencing his career with KPMG in Melbourne.
