New press room for insignia

After the move into their brand new head office for insignia employees in 2009, the company's Brisbane manufacturing team has been eagerly awaiting their own new office.

insignia began relocating their press room onsite to a larger manufacturing facility in early January. It took two weeks to relocate the label presses to the larger room.

The entire manufacturing facility, including packing of finished goods, is now fully air-conditioned.

The press room has been set out with Lean Manufacturing principles in mind, so that the most efficient work flow can be achieved.

insignia manufacturing operations manager Howard Gill said the new layout aimed to improve productivity and improve lead times for customers.

“Process and flow are important in achieving efficiency; a lot of time went into designing the layout of the new press room to ensure we are able to get materials in quickly and finished goods out the door even quicker," he said.

The new manufacturing facility allows for significant expansion for insignia’s next growth phase.
