When UK, Norfolk based Heaven Made Foods needed to meet a challenging deadline to get a new product line launched in Waitrose, it turned to leading tray sealing machinery experts Packaging Automation (UK) Ltd.
Packaging Automation not only supplied a PA182 tray sealer on hire with three sets of tools in just three weeks, it also helped the company to develop sample packs to present to Waitrose, and assisted in the selection of the best trays and film for each product.
The renowned dessert making company added an Apple Charlotte dessert to its product line and changed the pack format for two more of its popular lines, in a development which saw it move into tray sealing for the first time.
And with Packaging Automation's expert help, the new line was successfully launched on time and with the repackaged summer puddings and fruit terrine, is tempting the taste buds of Waitrose shoppers throughout the country.
Heaven Made Foods' operations manager James Duchesne says Packaging Automation provided an excellent level of service throughout.
"At the start of the project, we doubted if we could get the machine and tooling installed and operational in time to meet the extremely tight timeframe, but PA was brilliant and made sure we achieved it," Duchesne says.
"I would certainly recommend them to any other company, and particularly anyone who is moving into tray sealing for the first time."
"The fact that we were able to get the machine on hire initially was a bonus as we needed to be able to react quickly," he adds.
"This facility and PA's support and service have all helped us to respond to the needs of our customer and get the new products on the shelves."
"The machine is doing a great job - it is easy to use with minimal training needed as well as being well designed and robust, perfectly suited to a demanding food production environment."
The PA182 is Packaging Automation's most popular semiautomatic tray sealer and is in use worldwide sealing millions of packs.
It is versatile and easy to use, suitable for a wide range of products and can seal and trim film from a reel onto CPET polypropylene, PVC, board and foil trays.
Packaging Automation's technical sales engineer Jonathan Mildred who worked with Mr Duchesne says PA hire deals offer a great way for companies to move quickly when they need to, without the need for immediate capital expenditure.
"When this is combined with our extensive range of value added services and support, customers know they get a great deal more with Packaging Automation."
