Packaging Council of Australia's New South Wales and Victoria August dinner meetings will present a view from the US on Private Labels and The Ten Major Packaging Trends on Tuesday August 23rd, 2007, and Tuesday August 28th, 2007, respectively.

Craig Espelien, former general director of store brands SuperValu Supermarkets (the second largest retailer in the US) will discuss how packaging manufacturers and brandowners can respond to the substantial growth of private labels that has taken place in Australia over the past year.

Espelien will address what companies should be doing, how important packaging is in meeting the challenge presented by private labels and will discuss whether or not private labels always mean lower margins for others.

As well as this, he will speak about the the 10 major packaging trends in the US and discuss the major drivers behind these trends, as well as how they are affecting packaging manufacturers, brandowners and others in the supply chain.
