PolyMirae Company, a leading Asian polypropylene manufacturer and marketer, has introduced a new pelletised high fluidity polypropylene resin which can address the increasing demands of customers in meltblown textile applications.
The new resin, Moplen HP461X, is produced utilising PolyMirae’s state-of-the-art manufacturing technology combined with advanced catalyst systems from Basell.
PolyMirae say Moplen HP461X is an ultra-high melt flow rate (MFR) resin offering a narrow molecular weight distribution (MWD), making it ideal for meltblown fibre and compounding extrusion applications.
The company added that the pelletised form is more cost effective for customers, enabling easier handling, better processing as well as high property consistency and uniform peroxide concentrations.
The final products display superior heat resistance characteristics and improved air filtering efficiency.
The narrow MWD and high degree of resin consistency of Moplen HP461X promote finer fibres and enhance fibre filament thread line continuity, along with reduced dust in meltblown spinning processes.
Finer filaments enable deniers to be reduced significantly, with improved barrier performance, as well as soft-touch characteristics which can provide customers with value-added performance in medical and hygiene products.
The high MFR allows processing temperatures to be reduced over standard meltblown materials, which translate into important energy consumption savings.
The low smoke, clean running resin also has good thermal and processing stability, plus low gas fading characteristics.
Moplen HP461X is now commercially available in Korea and for export.
In export markets, it will be sold via Daelim Corporation in China and via Basell for all other countries.
