Tech Centre trains and tests

KHS, a global manufacturer of filling and packaging equipment for the beverage, food and non-food industries, has expanded its headquarters in Dortmund to include a Technology Centre.

With a floor area of 1000 square metres over two stories, the Technology Centre is linked to the company's existing Training Centre and will be used to train KHS' employees on new systems and solutions, ensuring high machine and system efficiency from the commisioning stage onwards.

In the future, open events will be held in the Technology Centre and it will be possible to hold training sessions for individual companies across the beverage, food and non-food sectors on a host of areas including labelling and inspection technology.

The Technology Centre will also be a test centre.

For instance, if a company intends to introduce a new type of PET bottle into its product line, test runs can be carried out on the rotary conveyor relating to the conveyor behaviour, possible conveyor throughput and material stress.

If a new style of label is involved, the interaction of label, labelling machine, container and adhesive can be tested.
